RSA - Rehabilitative Services Associate

SHC is accepting applications for RSA – Rehabilitative Services Associate. Currently looking for 2nd shift and 3rd shift; full-time position available.
 
Requirements
 
Candidates must be 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. One-year of direct patient care experience required.  Experience working in long-term care, behavioral health and/or geriatric health is preferred, but we are more than happy to train those who are interested in serving our special populations.
 
Job Summary

Qualified candidates require the ability to:
  • Provide both formal and informal interactions with consumers in a friendly, therapeutically appropriate, and helpful manner.
  • Assist consumers with activities of daily living, i.e. oral hygiene, shaving, dressing, bathing, room upkeep, hair care, and nail care.
  • Immediately attend to an episode of incontinence or other accidents, including assistance with bathing and obtaining clean clothing.
  • Measure and record consumer temperature, pulse, respiration, height, and weight as requested and instructed; document and report findings to the Health Services Department.
  • Provide prompts, reminders, and escorts when needed as well as in accordance with consumers’ Individualized Treatment Plans.
  • Assist at mealtime with menu selection (considering prescribed dietary orders), escort consumers to the dining area and provide after-meal care when required.
  • Monitor consumer behavior in the medication line and provide any needed assistance.
  • Assist with groups and activities as requested.
  • Complete documentation as required.
