Assistant Director of Nursing

SHC is seeking interest for an open Assistant Director of Nursing position (RN responsible to serve as Infection Preventionist and Skin Treatment Nurse). Currently looking for 1st shift Monday-Friday; full-time position available.
 

Requirements

Candidates must have a current State of Illinois license as a Registered Nurse. Experience working in long-term care, behavioral health and/or geriatric health in a management position is preferred.


 

Job Summary

Qualified candidates require the ability to:

  • Provide high standards of nursing care in accordance with the physician's orders.
  • Apply general nursing techniques and practices while maintaining accurate records, charts, and report observations.
  • Oversee CNAs, Nurses, and auxiliary personnel and the carrying out of their duties, as a part of the department head team.
  • Follow and give oral and written directions in exact detail and administer therapeutic skin treatment and infection control therapies as needed for patients.
  • Assist the DON with daily leadership of the nursing department.
  • Obtain certification as Infection Preventionist and lead Infection Control and Prevention Program: oversee enhanced barrier precautions, antibiotic stewardship program and manage all infection incidents and outbreaks.
  • Complete skin checks, regular assessments and track all treatments within the facility.
  • Round with the wound doctor, complete all treatments, and document progress.
  • Serve as the liaison between Bespoke psychiatry and the facility: processing all psychiatric medication changes and obtaining consents.
  • Serve on Nurse management team on-call rotation.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, facility QAPI meetings, MDS meetings and staff in-services as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by DON or Executive Director.
