Sharon HealthCare is hiring a Medical Records Coordinator
The Medical Records Coordinator maintains consumers' medical records and health-related information, as well as arranges medical appointments, staff escorts and transportation
Position Qualifications and Continuing Requirements:
Have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED
Be in good mental and physical health, have sound judgment, and a sincere desire to work with the facility's population
Know and adhere to the facility's Mission Statement and role in Recovery
Demonstrate a commitment to consumer rights, dignity, and independence
Possess a basic knowledge of services that enhance the psychosocial wellbeing of consumers
Be committed to cultivating an environment that promotes Recovery and collaborative relationships among consumers, staff, and stakeholders
Be able to therapeutically engage with consumers regardless of their manner of presentation
Have excellent organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to multitask
Possess a high capacity for problem-solving
Possess basic computer skills
Have the ability to work independently as well as collaborate with staff and community based medical, psychiatric, and transportation providers
Be able to receive and carry out directives
Be highly dependable and punctual
Be willing to act as a role model in team spirit, conduct, and appearance
Be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or in emergency situations when requested
Possess a high capacity for problem-solving

Responsibilities:
Assemble, check contents, and maintain medical records for both active and discharged consumers
Compile and submit information from records as required for insurance companies, funding entities, correctional/judicial systems, and any other authorized individual or entities
Conduct regular audits of active consumer records to ensure all required documentation is present and timely
Establish and oversee a procedure to ensure consumer records do not leave the Medical Records area except as authorized in facility policies and procedures
Arrange offsite medical appointments in accordance with physician's orders
Verify that consumer benefit funding will cover offsite services
Arrange transportation and staff escort to and from appointments as needed
Supervise escorts to ensure they are providing services in accordance with facility standards
Ensure that consumer care supplies are ordered, well-stocked, and readily available to staff
